After the unification of Italy, Richter became a supplier to the royal household, specializing in several fields including the printing of bank notes.Towards the end of the 19th century, the company was printing promotional items for commercial ventures, some of their clients included hotels. Borgoni, the company`s artistic director was in charge of the graphic images of hotels in Italy and their success there allowed them to expand onto Europe, North Africa and the Middle East where they began selling labels of their designs to important hotels there.
